Travis Porter Artist Statement and Bio:

Travis Porter is a designer living and working in Kansas City. He studied design at The Kansas City Art Institute School of Design, earning his BFA in 2005.

The artist established The Porterhaus as a space to combine his love of printmaking and design. He works in collections creating limited edition, hand printed pieces. These collections include small pieces printed by the artist in his studio and, more recently, larger pieces printed in collaborations with Bedrock Art Editions.

“In my compositions I layer color and cropped pieces of patterns to create secondary images. At the same time, I am building secondary colors I am splitting the patterns into smaller facets. Each intersection is a story of syncretism. I want to show the relationships between the primary forms and the unpredictable beauty they create when combined”
