All my surface decoration is based on my collection of overlooked domestic patterns aka toilet paper & paper towel patterns. I’ve been collecting these swatches for around 15 years and I use the subtle patterns from my collection to create thermofax screens and decals. I build up the surface with layers of screen-printed and stenciled underglaze. I layer, layer, and layer some more! After the glaze firing, each piece gets a final layer of decals(in this case 2 layers: iron oxide decals and china paint decals), and is put back into the kiln once again. This piece is fired 4 times.

Food Safe. Microwave & dishwasher safe. This piece is handmade and is more fragile than commercial ware. To ensure its longevity, you may choose to hand wash vs. running it through the dishwasher, but it’s up to you!
