Description
Religious art and modern commentary combine in the works of Emily Connell. By using found books of reference or vade mecum, she transforms the book into a contemporary sculpture. This piece features a gilt-edged Holy Bible that was fired and cut into a unique shape. Its nearly white coloring highlights the golden aspects of the transformed book that have surfaced in the process. Materials include porcelain, ashes of burnt book, and gold luster. It measures 3.125″x2.75″x1.1.25″.
