When asked to characterize her paintings, Laura Nugent describes her non-representational works as colliding blocks of color made orderly over time. Painting is her vocation and lifelong pursuit. Nugent began formal artistic training as a teen. She later graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art (now MICA) with a BFA in painting and has lived and worked as an artist all over the United States. Currently, Nugent’s studio resides in Kansas City while she still travels widely to exhibit her work.
