Description
This piece was created during a period that I desperately needed to let go of past issues that had haunted me. It allowed me to create in a style that I don’t often use. The body of the sculpture has two raised silver pieces. The sterling silver bottom portion has been created using the ancient metals technique of raising, to create the half sphere and chasing and repoussé. The top portion is a sterling silver disc raised into a dome with sterling silver spikes erupting through the skin and protecting the 24k yellow gold granules on its surface. The cold forged legs are embellished with a scaly carving while the tongue of the sculpture was cold forged and refined to create the smooth highly polished surface holding a formed and chased leaf. The leaf represents the letting go/or devouring accusations from the past.
