As an artist, Anthony Stellaccio acknowledges where loss and art combine to create beauty in objects. Often inspired by utilizing natural and found objects, he has created a thoughtful mixed media piece that uses the ash of burned childhood toys and ceramic gourds. Measuring 6.5”x15.5”x6.5”, this contemporary sculpture is a set of conjoined plexiglass boxes that each house ashes and gourds. The ceramic gourds are created using clay, glaze, cement, corks, mementos from dead people, foodstuffs, and libations.

Anthony Stellaccio is a freelance artist and scholar educated in both fine art and folklore. A member of the American Folklore Society, the American Ceramic Circle, and the International Academy of Ceramics, Stellaccio is an active artist, writer, and has worked with and for museums in both the USA and Eastern Europe.
