About this work:
Alone, yet radiating peace and quiet confidence, a Marwari mare steps into the world as a symbol of resilience. Known for their endurance and ability to traverse vast distances across India’s arid landscapes, the Marwari breed stands as a testament to strength in harsh conditions. This particular mare was photographed in Rajasthan, India, during the torrential monsoon rains of 2024. The mare stands under a makeshift shelter, her posture poised yet betraying a hint of vulnerability. There is a subtle tension in her gaze, almost as if she is uncertain but determined, embodying a blend of pride, fear, and forward momentum. Her eyes, locking onto the photographer’s lens, create a powerful connection, as if she is looking straight through the viewer. Captured from a slightly elevated angle, the composition emphasizes the mareās grace and stature, giving her an almost regal presence despite the storm’s devastating effects. The Wanderer stands as a reminder of the beauty that resists adversity, a portrait of a vulnerable creature navigating the storm of uncertainty with quiet determination.

“A traveling equestrian photographer who lives in a private riding education center that teaches the “Academic Art of Riding” in DronningmĆølle, Denmark. For me, the farm is my open-air studio and the most fascinating workplace a photographer could dream of. Iām an artist who lives in the environment of my own inspiration ā horses! I live surrounded by my āmuseā and power animals, as I love to call them.”
