During the heyday of Route 66 travel, the New Mexico town of Tucumcari posted billboards along the route promoting “Tucumcari Tonite – 2,000 Motel Rooms”. While there aren’t that many rooms in Tucumcari today, there are a number of vintage motels still operating. Motel Safari provides updated accommodations while retaining the retro charm. It also has a camel in the office to match the sign.
